Privacy policy

Template for review by your legal adviser before launch. Last updated: October 2026.

Photos you upload

Photos are analysed to find similar products and are not stored. If AI image analysis is enabled, the photo is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) only to describe the product. If you choose "Share my photo", we keep a small copy so it can appear in Recent finds, after an automated or manual safety check. Photos showing people are never shown publicly.

Searches and finds

Each search with results gets its own page (a "find") so you can share it. Finds from links and typed searches can appear in Recent finds on our homepage. They show the product, never who searched for it. For pasted links we keep the product details we read from the page and the store's domain.

Clicks

When you click a Shop button we record the product, where on the site you clicked, the time, your anonymous session id, a one-way hash of your browser type and, if you're signed in, your account id. We send the retailer's affiliate network a random click id (not your identity) so we can match commissions to clicks. We do not store your IP address in this log. The retailer and network may set their own cookies once you leave our site; their privacy policies apply.

Cookies

We set ta_sid, an anonymous random id kept for up to a year, to attribute clicks and searches and to prevent reward abuse; and ta_auth while you're signed in. TwinAlike does not set advertising cookies. If we add analytics or advertising, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.

Accounts, alerts and rewards

If you create an account we store your email, a scrambled (hashed) password, the items you save and, if rewards are on, your points history and gift card requests. We use your email to confirm your account and to send the price-drop alerts you ask for. Points are not transferable and are paid out only as described on your account page.
